What is Perspectives Film Festival?

Perspectives Film Festival is the first and longest-running student-run film festival in Singapore since 2008. It is organised by students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as part of a practicum conducted by the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.  


When are the festival dates?

23 October 2020 to 1 November 2020.   


Where will the festival be held?

Perspectives Film Festival goes virtual this year so you can enjoy film screenings within the comfort of your own home, at your own time. We have partnered with The Projector to bring you our virtual festival, and films in our line-up can be watched on their virtual platform The Projector Plus. Who can attend the film screenings?

Each film is rated in accordance with IMDA’s ratings guidelines, and standard cinema age advisories apply on the online platform as well. The ratings for each film are available at  


Is the festival open to film submissions?

Perspectives Film Festival is a curated festival and thus not open to film submissions.

How do I buy tickets?

All ticket purchases can be made at our festival’s page on The Projector Plus. To purchase tickets, simply create or log into your Projector Plus account.  


When are films available for purchase?

Films are available for purchase from 10 October. Please check this space for the latest updates on ticket sales.  


How much are tickets priced at? 

Each standard ticket costs SGD 8.  Viewers can also purchase bundles of 3 or 5 different films from the line up at SGD 18 and SGD 28 respectively.  


How do I collect my tickets?

No physical ticket collection will be required. Films that have been purchased will be available via your account with The Projector Plus during the festival period.  


What are the payment methods available?

You may make payment via VISA, MasterCard or American Express.  


What time are the film screenings?

Films are available throughout the 10-day festival. You may purchase a ticket and begin to watch the film of your choice anytime, anywhere. All purchased films can be viewed for 48 hours after pressing ‘Play’ on the platform from 23 October, 7pm onwards.  


How long may I view the film screenings for?

You may view each film for up to 48 hours. More specifically, this 48-hour window only begins once you press ‘Play,’ not from the time of purchase transaction. For instance, if you purchase a ticket on 23 October without pressing the ‘Play’ button on the film, you have up till 1 November (11.59pm) to watch the film. However, if you purchase a ticket on 23 October and have already pressed ‘Play’ on the film, this film will expire in 48 hours on 25 October.  Viewers are advised to complete watching the entirety of their purchased films before the end of the 1 November 2020, 2359, as no refunds will be made for incomplete viewings.   


I am experiencing technical difficulties and can’t view my film on The Projector Plus.

Is there a refund policy for festival tickets?

Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable upon purchase.  




How do I purchase this year’s merchandise?

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cashless payment by Paylah! and PayNow (to +65 9221 8190). You will receive the order details upon completion.  


What delivery options are available, and how much will shipping cost?

You may opt for self-pick up at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information from 5 October 2020. Normal local and registered mail are also available for our merchandise.

Local Normal Mail: No tracking number will be provided under this option.
Local Courier Delivery: You will receive an email notification once your order has been picked up by our courier. Our courier partner will contact you directly regarding your delivery status.  

How long will it take for my orders to arrive after making payment?

Orders will be packed and shipped in batches at the end of each week from 5 October onwards. You may expect your order to arrive within 4 to 6 business days after it is shipped.  


Do you accept returns for merchandise purchased?

All merchandise purchases are not eligible for exchange or refund. Should there be any defects, please feel free to contact

1. Virtual Scavenger Hunt

The Virtual Scavenger Hunt will be taking place over the span of 48 hours from Friday, 25 September 2020, 7pm, till Sunday, 27 September 2020, 7pm.

How do I be a part of the Virtual Scavenger Hunt?

2. “Journalism in a Post-Truth World”: Live Q&A session with Director Ramona Diaz

During the film festival, we will be having an exclusive live Q&A session titled “Journalism In A Post-Truth World” with Ramona Diaz, Director of A Thousand Cuts (2020). Together with Diaz, we will dive into the challenges of journalism and the struggles between perception and truth. You can find more information about the event here.


When will this live Q&A session with Director Ramona Diaz take place?

“Journalism In A Post-Truth World” with Diaz will take place on Sunday 25 October 2020, 9pm SGT. The session will be on Zoom (sign-ups required) and broadcasted live on our Facebook page


How do I be a part of this live Q&A session?

The event will be hosted on Zoom, where participants are able to ask Diaz any further questions. The session will also be broadcasted live on our Facebook page and is solely for viewing purposes.
